The Language Of Love
The language of love is complex and varies between sexes and situations. How do you know if the opposite sex is heating up for romance or giving you the cold shoulder? Many social experts agree that body language is the key to keeping up with the subconscious cues of romance, read on for some tips:
Eyes If eye contact lingers a little longer than normal it’s considered eye flirting and is a good sign. If you get closer keep a look out for pupil enlargement, which signals interest in the viewed object.
Hands The first handshake can easily be used to gauge a male’s attitude. If his hand tilts hard and forces yours under he’s an aggressive and controlling male. If his handshake is weak and limp he is insecure and unconfident, and likely looking for a mother-type. The best handshake is vertical and firm, conveying he looks at you as an equal.
Arms Crossed arms are common among shy-types and large groups, but still signals defensiveness. If the arms cross at a certain point during a conversation your dialogue or actions might be inappropriate. If you’re the arm-crosser ensure that you’re not accidentally ‘crossing’, which people will unconsciously perceive as negative.
Legs: The direction of the feet usually implies direction of interest. If one or both feet are angled away from you its likely you are not sparking romantic interest. Crossed arms and crossed legs pointing away are the simplest clues telling you to back out of a bad situation.
Mirroring: When two people are tuning into each other they will begin to mirror each other. When sitting or standing across from each other they will keep feet and shoulders parallel, not angled away. Actions can be mirrored too; people who are hitting it off will begin to drink similarly, sit similarly, and assume similar moods or dispositions.
